IAF (International Accreditation Forum)
IAF is an International Accreditation Forum. IAF is established to contribute to the promotion of world trade by eliminating trade technical barriers in the fields of management system certification, product certification, and personnel certification through MLA (Multilateral Recognition Arrangements).
The primary function of IAF
The primary function of IAF is to develop international conformity assessment program that ensure that accredited certificates may be relied upon. In this way, accreditation by the accreditation body that has signed an MLA with IAF asures users of competence and impartiality of the accredited conformity assessment bodies and users can reduce potential risks.
The main role of IAF
- IAF ensures that accreditation body members only accredit bodies that are competent and are not subject to conflicts of interest.
- IAF is to establish MLA (Multilateral Recognition Arranagements) between its accreditation body members which reduces risk to business and its customers by ensuring that an accredited certificate may be relied upon anywhere in the world.
Relationship between IAF and GPC
GPC has been accredited as a personnel certification body based on ISO/IEC 17024 from IAS (International Accreditation Service), an accreditation body that has signed MLA with IAF. Through the MLA between IAF and IAS and accreditation from IAS, GPC provides reliable personnel certification service to customers.
